Default How do I capture video from the game?

Ok, I know it must have been said somewhere b4, many times maybe, but I searched and did not find anything about it.

I downloaded FRAPS, free version. I tried and didn't get it to work. Kinda. I did record a few things (short test movies of characters out and about) and they went to the FRAPS folder, but when I try to play (open them) they simply won't work. The media player says there has been a prob and has to close...and so it does. I try opening them with quicktime, they first came out as quicktime movies...(what is that man?) and the whole computer crashes and jams and got to log out kinda thing.

I AM NOT SURE IF I AM USING THE FRAPS THINGY OK FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE RECORDING, SO IF SOME ONE KNOWS THE PROPER PROCEDURE TO CAPTURE VIDEO MOVIES FROM THE GAME AND CAN TELL ME EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT (FROM THE VERY TOP, WITH FRAPS) I'LL BE GRATEFUL...

Thanks to all

Windows Media player should not be crashing when trying to play them, at worst give you an error about "unsupported codex" but not crash and exit.

Try updating windows media player to the most current verison:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/default.mspx

Let us know if that doesn't work. Instead of giving errors about can't play but actually crashing programs.. something is up with your pc.

Also try installing the most current video & sound card drivers for your pc.

Hiya Eternal,

Thanks for that message. Truly appreciated. At least I know that something might be wrong with the media player. Truth is, I got the latest Media player available, and Windows XP. I tried playing some videos (dvds) and music with it and it seems to work ok. I am at the moment waiting for a new, suitable video card and extra Ram for my second pc, so as soon as it arrives, I will install my gw disc on it and try to capture some more videos from the game...and see what happens. It might turn out to be ok.

In any case, I will let you know what happens and whether I run into any more problems.

Thanks again...
